Body:
- Instead of dreading the hotel gym, take your workout with you wherever you go. If you are going to a topical destination, rent a paddle board or take a brisk walk on the beach. If you are headed to the mountains, take a morning hike or bike into the city.
- One of the main reasons we travel is to have fun and let loose a little, not to feel restricted.
- How: Instead of cutting out all the “bad foods” from your diet, focus on getting a healthy balance of foods. For example, if you’re going to eat something heavy for dinner, order a side of veggies along with it. Also, have a light, healthy lunch to make up for it.
Mind:
- Mindful Meditation involves focusing solely on the present. This includes your current thoughts, breath and emotions, without concerning yourself with the past or future.
- How: Sit in a comfortable, quiet space for a predetermined amount of time. Continue to breathe and try to keep a clear mind. Spend 10-15 minutes letting your mind rest and be on vacation as well.
- Download the Calm App to walk you through simple meditations and mindfulness.
Spirit:
- Write down your thoughts in a journal or memorize a Bible verse a day
- Studies have also shown that the emotional release from journaling lowers anxiety, stress, and induces better sleep.
- How: Grab your cup of coffee and your bible. If you need some inspiration, check out this 5 Day devotional.
